But I am disappointed in my pony club sleuthing self not to have connected the dots on that bit earlier. It's weird. Looks like such a brilliant idea, but I popped it into the mouth of another gelding at the barn, who literally doesn't bat an eyelash at ANYTHING, and even he was grumpy and fussy in it... SIGH. Time to go back to the tack store!Ginghamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06677667981067220682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855187223809114916.post-7417443045966217472010-12-13T21:16:28.157-08:002010-12-13T21:16:28.157-08:00Wow. I felt (and still do) horrible for doing that to her. She was misrable.

That sucks that this happened, but on the good note, you know now that this happened and can change it in the future.

Beating ourselves up (although, really easy to do) doesn't help them. Fix it and move forward (yes, yes, so easy for me to say hu!? As about 35 people have said to me already this morning, don't beat yourself up over something like this! We try to do our best, and that is all we can do. We love our horses, and we do our best by them, as best we can.
(Although one of those 35 told me I needed a therapist for beating myself up over Gogo.... so maybe we need to invest in those instead!)Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15902291220984883182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855187223809114916.post-43390991722396014622010-12-13T15:38:37.510-08:002010-12-13T15:38:37.510-08:00Very interesting. I am going to have to point this out to her.... I wouldn't beat yourself up at all. This bit looks like a very horse-friendly one that will eleviate any pinching on the sides of her mouth. Hopefully now that you've switched bits and saddles, things will continue to improve!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13790278181159401158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855187223809114916.post-15599233150750272952010-12-13T15:08:27.926-08:002010-12-13T15:08:27.926-08:00You're pretty smart to be figuring all that ou...You're pretty smart to be figuring all that out - I wish more people would think about things like this. As Ashley says, don't beat yourself up - we've all done things like this without intending to - just be glad that now you have figured some things out.

Our horses speak to us if only we're willing to listen - particularly sensitive mares.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855187223809114916.post-55347614326343329482010-12-13T14:53:11.082-08:002010-12-13T14:53:11.082-08:00Don't beat yourself up over it. Move on and make it up to her :) Horses are very forgiving!!Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10984295912656964300noreply@blogger.com
